MAYVILLE – Officials announced recently that on Sat., Feb. 16, CARTS will be offering free Fixed Route Transportation.

The buses will be running in Falconer/Jamestown/Lakewood areas and in the Dunkirk Area with a stop at Fredonia Wal-Mart.

“We are actively working on enhancing CARTS, the countywide transportation service and expanding operations,” said Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello. “This trial of a Saturday route is another step toward creating a new level of service that can be even more convenient and better utilized.”

Operating hours for the Jamestown Area Routes: Lakewood and Falconer Routes 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Baker/Willard and Southwest Express/North Main Routes 9:15 AM – 5:45 PM.

Operating Hours for the Dunkirk City Fixed Routes will be 8:30 AM -5:30 PM.

“Take advantage of the CARTS promotion for Saturday service during the Presidents’ Day weekend and go shopping, visit a friend, or have lunch at one of the many restaurants located on our fixed city routes,” said Brad Bentley, Department of Public Facilities Director. “This promotion will help CARTS understand the needs of our customers as the County looks to expand our service days and times in the coming year.”
