JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man is charged in connection with a fire that left a male seriously burned Friday night at 105 Weeks St., according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Danny N. Phanco, 49, of the above address, is charged with second-degree arson, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment.
When asked how investigators were able to determine that the fire was an arson, JPD Captain Robert Samuelson declined to provide specifics, but did say that, “The investigation revealed the fire was intentionally set, and Phanco was subsequently charged.”
Phanco was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail. The investigation by Jamestown Fire Investigators is continuing and additional charges are expected, according to police.
The male, meanwhile, is reportedly at ECMC in Buffalo for treatment to serious burns to his body.
