The castle is part of an annual festival that started in 1987, and has grown ever since.

In an interview with the President of Mayville/Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce this week, Sally Andriaccio said this year’s event will be ramped up a bit.

“New this year is we are having a beer and wine tent featuring all local wineries and breweries,” said Andriaccio. “We also have a kids tent this year; we’ve got some ice skating and hockey on the lake.  We have a lot of new food trucks this year and a lot of crafters.”

Some of the biggest highlights of the weekend include a Polar Plunge Saturday at 2 p.m.

At 8 p.m. Saturday a winter fireworks display will take the sky.
