JAMESTOWN – On Tues., Mar. 19, the City Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department will be holding sign-ups for the City Recreation Youth Baseball League from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the lobby of City Hall.
The program is open to youth ages seven to 12 years old. Children who are seven-years-old will only be allowed to play in the outfield.
City residents must pay a $5 registration fee per child. Non-city residents must pay a $15 registration fee per child. All children registering must supply proof of age. Children who played in the program in previous years must still sign up on Mar. 19 and pay the registration fee.
The application for financial assistance is available on the city’s website at www.jamestownny.net or at the Jamestown Parks & Rec Office on the fourth floor of the Municipal Building during regular business hours.
The scholarship form is due back to the Parks & Rec Office by Mon., Mar. 18.
The age determination date is Apr. 30. Whatever a player’s age is on or before Apr. 30 is the player’s league age for the 2019 season. This playing age rule corresponds with that adopted by Babe Ruth Baseball.
If you have any questions, call the Recreation Office at 483-7523.
