JAMESTOWN – The National Comedy Center is one step closer to being the official “center for comedy”.

Congressman Tom Reed (R) announced Tuesday that the bill designating the Jamestown landmark as the “Official Center for Comedy” will head to President Trump’s desk..

Reed passed the bill last year in the House. Earlier this month, New York State Senator Chuck Schumer (D) visited Jamestown to announce that the NCC was included in the Senate’s version of the bill.

President Trump is expected to sign the measure; if so; Jamestown’s NCC will soon have the prestige of a national designation from Congress.

The center will stand with famous facilities like the National Gallery of Art, the National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
