JPD, Youth Group To Square Off In Charity Basketball Game Tonight

JAMESTOWN-  The Emmanuel Baptist Church’s youth group will be settling it out on the court against the Jamestown Police Department at 6 p.m. tonight at Washington Middle School.

Admission will be $1 for students and $3 for adults. In an interview with JPD Chief Harry Snellings, he said that the fundraiser is for the church’s youth group. Snellings said the funds will help them take trips throughout the year.

“It’s a fundraiser for them, but bigger than that, it’s our opportunity to engage kids in our community in a different setting than they are accustomed to seeing us,” Snellings said. “It’s a fun time.”

Snellings and Captain Robert Samuelson will be two of the JPD members playing in the game.
