CHERRY CREEK – A 17-year-old is charged in connection with a burglary on Depot Street Monday afternoon, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said they, along with New York State Police, responded for a report of three people entering a building. The people reportedly fled prior to authorities responding.

The trio, ages 11, 14, and 17, was located following a search, and the Sheriff’s Office said an investigation revealed that the trio allegedly entered a building unlawfully and removed property.

Deputies said the 17-year-old is charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny. The teen was taken to Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned with centralized arraignment.

The other two were turned over to a guardian and their charges are pending.
