JAMESTOWN – An annual event to raise awareness for the need for skilled manufacturing took place at Jamestown Community College Thursday morning.

Dream It Do It WNY’s STEM Wars featured a wide variety of technology related events and a career search for high school students in Chautauqua County.

In year’s past the event has brought together more than 900 students from around the region.

Event coordinator Carly Abbate said this year’s event was bigger than expected.

“I am so excited to walk around today and see what all is happening,” said Abbate. “These students get so involved and it is awesome.”

Abbate said students also partook in competitions, a manufacturing career fair, and on-site team building/leadership skills projects as well.

“They are using valuable skills and knowledge to create a product that they are competing with,” explained Abbate.
