JAMESTOWN – For the second time in two years the Chadakoin River in downtown Jamestown was dyed green on Saturday in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day.

Joanna Dahlbeck, with the Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce who hosted the event, said that several hundred people poured in to downtown Jamestown to celebrate the luck of the Irish.

Dahlbeck said that many business offered special discounts for event goers as well.

Elegant Edibles Catering offered baked goods and coffee while Eventz by Scott offered face painting and St. Patrick’s Day-themed headgear and necklaces; just to name a few.

A St. Patrick’s Day Dash also took place Saturday morning along Third Street Downtown.
