BEMUS POINT – At 6 p.m. Tuesday, members of the Bemus Point Fire Department conducted an ice rescue drill, in which several “victims” who had fallen through the ice were rescued in the drill.

WNYNewsNow was contacted by concerned people who reported massive ice rescues in the area. This was only a drill.
More than 10 simulated rescues were performed with the use of Airboat 442 and was conducted by 15 members of the department.
Fire officials urge caution going on the ice, especially in the narrows between the bridge and Bemus Point Ferry.
