Weather Officials Confirm EF-2 Tornado Touchdown Near Warren

CONEWANGO, Pa. – Officials with the National Weather Service in State College, Pa. have confirmed a EF-2 tornado touchdown near Starbrick in Warren County Sunday evening.

According to an initial damage survey, the tornado produced significant damage near U.S. Route 6 and Preston Road around 8:25 p.m.

Weather officials said the tornado initially touched down in Pleasant Township near Lenhart Road and strengthened as it tracked northeast through Starbrick. It reached peak intensity and produced the most significant damage and winds in Starbrick.











The National Weather Service said the tornado continued northeast with fluctuating intensity through North Warren. It continued northeast through Scandia, where a communications tower was knocked down.The tornado weakened as it traveled north-northeast and produced the last of the damage at Blueberry Hill Golf Course near Lounsbury Corners.

Carter Lumber Company suffered extensive damage and a boat was lifted off the ground, according to the NWS.
