LITTLE VALLEY – Cattaraugus County Sheriff K9 Nichols recently received a GPS system as a gift. The system will allow handler Tim Pence track Nichols’ movement while on police calls.

The Garmin Astro 430 was donated by Larry and Sue Speiser of Hamburg. The GPS will allow Spence to track Nichols for up to nine miles.

“We already have a bullet proof vest on the way from another generous donor,” Spence said when asked what Nichols needed. “So a GPS collar would be another great tool to assist us in running a succesful K9 program. We are extremely grateful for this donation as well.”
