ELLICOTTVILLE – A Town of Cattaraugus man is facing driving while ability impaired by drugs charges after New York State Police said he drove to their Ellicottville Trooper Barracks while under the influence of prescription drugs Sunday.

Troopers said Levi H. Kent, 25, was picking up another person accused of DWI from the State Police Barracks in Ellicottville.

Investigators said Kent was exhibiting signs of impairment. After speaking with him troopers said Kent admitted to having taken a combination of prescription drugs prior to operating his vehicle.

After failing standardized field sobriety tests, Kent was evaluated by a drug recognition expert who determined he was impaired.

Troopers said Kent was processed at the State Police Ellicottville Barracks and released with an appearance ticket for Ellicottville Town Court.
