JAMESTOWN – Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello and Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities Director Brad Bentley are expected to announce details of CARTS new ‘Summer Saturday Service’ this week.

The two are scheduled to speak at a press conference Wednesday morning at CARTS’ Jamestown Bus Hub, 215 E. Third St.

In December, Borrello and Bentley rode the bus system part of an initiative dubbed ‘Free Fixed Route Friday.’ The two took feedback from bus riders.

Borrello said in December he hopes to announce a number of important upgrades to the system in the future.

The county executive said he will try to take advantage of a New York State’s DOT grant dubbed the ‘Public Transportation Modernization and Enhancement Program.’

Borrello’s office said the announcement coincides with Mass Transit Awareness Month.
