
BUFFALO – The Buffalo Sabres hired Ralph Krueger to become the team’s new head coach on Wednesday.
Krueger becomes the Sabres sixth head coach in the last eight years. He will also become the 19th head coach in the history of the Buffalo Sabres.
Prior to joining the Sabres, Krueger was with the Edmonton Oilers from 2010 until the 2018-2019 season as an Associate Head Coach.
Krueger also spent one season as Edmonton’s head coach during the 2012-2013 NHL Season which was cut to 48 games due to an NHL Lockout.
In his one season as Edmonton’s coach, Krueger led Edmonton to a 19-22-7 record, which was good for a third place finish in the Pacific Division that season.
Krueger was also the head coach for Team Europe during the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
