SHERMAN – Four people are facing drug charges after the New York State Police and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office allegedly recovered cocaine and heroin during a vehicle checkpoint on Waits Corners Road Sunday afternoon.

Investigators said that Andrew R. Sobilo, 30, Brian A. Christina, 50, Lamont E. Brown, 31, Loren E. Duman, 31, were found in possession of a half-ounce of cocaine, a quantity of heroin, and drug paraphernalia.

Sobilo, Christina, Brown, and Duman were all charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Sobilo is also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after deputies allegedly found an additional amount of cocaine, heroin, methadone, and a hypodermic instrument on his person.

Deputies said Sobilo, Christina, Brown, and Duman were arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County jail without bail.

  1. I was at that fest…the roadblocks consisted of at least 10 cars, 15 officers in riot gear and heavily armed and considering the thousands who attended, it seems like much ado about nothing to arrest 4 people. I’m not unhappy they caught these folks with relatively smaller quantities, but overall the approach that the state takes is ridiculous. On a long holiday weekend, based on what I saw on i-90, they would have better served the public to be on traffic duty.
