Mid-Day Power Outage Sweeps Chautauqua County, 11,000 Customers Impacted

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY – More than 11,000 Chautauqua County National Grid customers were hit with mid-day power outages Tuesday, according to the National Grid Outage Map.

As of 12:12p.m., National Grid reported  4,777 customers without electrical power in the Fredonia area, 4,129 customers in the Lakewood area, 1,267 customers  near and in Westfield and 5,807 customers in the Jamestown city line and Kiantone areas.

No reason was given for the widespread outages, but National Grid anticipates most of the power will be restored by 2 p.m. According to the web site outage map, 11,131 customers were impacted.
