CARROLL – A comedic fundraiser to raise money for veteran flag holders will take place this weekend.

Robb Will, best known as Jamestown’s 67th funniest comedian, will host comedians Dobie Maxwell “Mr. Lucky” and Bill Gorgo at the Frewsburg American Legion Saturday at 7 p.m.

Will told WNYNewsNow the comedic fundraiser is a huge opportunity to have some laughs and help a good group of vets in the community.

“The Dwyer Program here locally, the United Veterans Council, the Veterans of Modern Warfare Chapter 20, all of those groups are veterans helping veterans, doing veterans stuff; coming out to this show you will be supporting them also,” said Will.

Will started his comedic career only after suffering some pain.

“Sometimes life throws tragedies at you,” said Will. “Tragedy plus time equals comedy.”

Will suffered a traumatic brain injury while working for a welding distributor after he was hit in the head by a 2,300-pound argon cylinder. Will said that was his fourth major head injury in his lifetime. He doesn’t let the injury define him, but rather, inspire him to perform comedy.

Will is a U.S. Army Veteran who served from 1987 to 1990 repairing M1 Tank Turrets.

Presale tickets are $15 and can be ordered at the Legion or by calling 716-450-6768. Tickets the night of the performance are $17 at the door.

Will said all proceeds from the event go towards the veteran flag holders group.
