First Defense Weather: A Nice Weekend Lies Ahead

JAMESTOWN – The cloudy start to Friday will eventually give way to sunshine and lower humidity for the weekend, as a high pressure system moves across Western New York.

Friday afternoon will see some clearing skies after a rather cloudy start. It will feel nice outside with temperatures in the low to mid 70’s.  Partly cloudy skies continue into tonight with temperatures dropping back into the mid 50’s. Some patchy fog may develop overnight into the early morning hours of Saturday.

Both weekend days are looking good. Both Saturday and Sunday will see plenty of sunshine. Temperatures in the lower 80’s on Saturday and upper 70’s on Sunday.

A weak cold front will pass by Saturday night, bringing with it a few showers and a possible thunderstorm overnight, otherwise it will be mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 50’s.

A tropical air mass will bring a bit of a heat wave into the region by mid next week. Temperatures could break 90 degrees in some areas. This may provide for the hottest and stickiest weather so far this summer for the region.
