LAKE ERIE – Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies say a 19-year-old teen drowned Thursday after jumping from a cliff into Lake Erie near Ripley Beach.

Authorities have identified the drowning victim as Alex L. Musser, 19, of Waterford Pa.

Deputies said two 19-year-old men, both from Pennsylvania, were jumping into into rough water.

Musser was unable to get out of the water, and deputies said he drowned before emergency personnel arrived.

His body was recovered Friday.

The other landed near rocks at the bottom of the cliff. When first responders arrived on scene, they found him with non-life threatening injuries.
