DUNKIRK – Two people were charged Monday following an investigation into a Fourth of July incident that sent a 58-year-old woman to ECMC for treatment, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

An 18-year-old Amherst female and 19-year-old Buffalo male, both unidentified, allegedly lighted projectile fireworks. One of them allegedly struck the female, causing injuries.

Both were charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, and are to appear before the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date.
