Sherman Man Charged With Criminal Possession Of Weapon

SHERMAN – A check of a suspicious vehicle on Main Street lead to the arrest of a Sherman man Friday morning, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. 

William F. Sloan, Jr., 29, was allegedly in possession of a loaded rifle. In addition, Sloan, Jr. was prohibited from possessing a rifle due to prior felony convictions.

Sloan was arrested and held at Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment.











Sloan will appear in Town of Sherman Court at a later date to answer a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
