Lakeside Communities See Heavy Damage From Saturday Storm

CHAUTAUQUA LAKE – Several communities along Chautauqua Lake suffered heavy damage from thunderstorms Saturday afternoon.

Fire crews from Ashville and Lakewood responded to 57 Loomis Bay Rd. for an overturned pontoon boat and dock leaking fuel just before 3:30 p.m.

In a post on Facebook, Nancy Nordwall reported heavy damage to docks, trees and homes in the area.

Viewers also reported similar damage just north at the Ashville Bay Marina.

A severe line of thunderstorms moved through the area around 3 p.m. Saturday. Heavy winds and rains were reported, but seemed localized to communities along the lake.
