JAMESTOWN – Gas prices in the Jamestown area have fallen.
According to statistics from AAA and GasBuddy.com, Western New York’s average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has dropped three cents to $2.71.
In Jamestown, the average price for a gallon of regular gas is now $2.81. Dunkirk’s price is even lower, sitting at $2.77 a gallon.
Just south in Warren, Pennsylvania, customers pay $2.89 for a regular gallon of petrol.
The national average is $2.56 per gallon. That’s down 11-cents from a month ago and 28-cents cheaper than a year ago.
“Gasoline demand in early September generally declines alongside stock levels as refineries prepare for the switch over to winter-blend gasoline and undergo maintenance,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson. “These typical trends mean savings for motorists, leading the way for potentially some of the cheapest gas prices at the end of the year.”
