OLEAN – A City of Olean woman is facing charges after New York State Police alleged she failed to return several rental cars to businesses in the Town of Olean.

Sharon A. Hendryx, 68, is charged with second-degree scheme to defraud and three counts of third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Troopers investigating a complaint of a customer failing to return a rental vehicle alleged determined Hendryx developed a pattern of failing to return vehicles at several local businesses.

Hendryx was arrested and arraigned in Portville Town Court, where she was remand to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.

Troopers said she is scheduled to appear in Olean Town Court in October.
