WASHINGTON – For the first time in 11 months, no new cases of the measles were reported last week, according to health officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

So far this year 1,241 cases have been reported. That’s the most cases in the U.S. since 1992.

The current epidemic centered around New York and Brooklyn.

Most of the cases were among people who weren’t vaccinated against measles.
