JAMESTOWN – City of Jamestown Police issued a warning to parents and children following a suspicious encounter between a man and child walking to school Thursday.

Police say the child was walking on Cole Avenue at East Virginia Boulevard when a tall white male in his 30’s approached.

The man reportedly followed and eventually ran after the child before running into a wooded area near the Goranson Band Shell in Allen Park.

Officers describe the man as having dark hair, wearing dark colored clothing and a long sleeve shirt with a camo design on its back.

Police say they are working closely with Jamestown Public Schools to investigate the matter.

  1. LoL I run through there all the time. Normally have my dog with me though. Made me wonder if I got reported for running.
