RANDOLPH – A City of Jamestown man is recovering following a hunting accident last week in Randolph.

New York State DEC Forest Rangers report the 22-year-old man, who was not identified, was found hanging from a tree stand last Tuesday in a wooded area off Hotchkiss Road.

A state DEC forest ranger with help from the Chautauqua County Tech Rescue Team used a Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s UTV to reach the man’s location.

After being safely lowered to the ground, the man was taken to a local hospital.

Rangers said he was suspended in the air for nearly two-and-a-half hours.
