Jamestown Man Arrested For Drug Possession Following Warrant Check

JAMESTOWN – A City of Jamestown man was arrested over the weekend after officers allegedly found him in possession of methamphetamine.

Nelson Torres Jr., 40, is charged with second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal contempt.

Police said Torres was arrested during a warrant check on Franklin Street Saturday night.











While search Torres possessions, police allegedly found 6.1 grams of meth, several glassine baggies and a digital scale.

Torres also allegedly violated an order of protection to stay away from a woman living at the arrest location.

Police said Torres was taken to Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment in the case.
