JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly fleeing police in the area of E. 8th Street and Prendergast Avenue.

Officers with Jamestown Police Department say Jason Rosado Cruz, 29, was riding a bicycle in the intersection without any lights just before 2:30 a.m.

When officers tried to speak with Rosado Cruz, they said the man attempted to elude them in a wooded area behind houses on E. 8th Street.

The man, who allegedly ignored an officer’s commands to stop moving, was eventually located and taken into custody.

He is charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and no light on bicycle.

Rosado Cruz was held at Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in the case.
