JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Schools PROMISE Fund recently donated hundreds of winter clothing items in all sizes to Jamestown Schools.
The clothing was collected through the Fund’s recent Winter Clothing Drive.
The Jamestown PROMISE Fund thanks the community for its generous donations including: coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarfs. The donations will be distributed to children in the Jamestown schools to help keep them warm this winter.
“The greater Jamestown community demonstrated its enduring generosity during this fall’s Winter Clothing Drive,” said John Zabrodsky, Jamestown PROMISE Fund Advisory Board Chair. “The diversity and amount of items collected was truly remarkable. The PROMISE Fund thanks all who donated.”
The fund was founded in 2016 as a charitable, non-endowment fund via the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. Its mission is to expand the financial capacity of JPS through private, tax-deductible fund-raising activities.
The purpose is to enhance the educational programs, projects, and opportunities for the JPS District. The Jamestown Schools PROMISE Fund has already helped create and fund a summer literacy program in Jamestown, held musical instrument and athletic equipment drives and donated rain ponchos to every school.
