Police Arrest Men With Large Amount Of Cash, Cocaine And Marijuana

JAMESTOWN – Two City of Jamestown men were arrested Wednesday night following a traffic stop at the corner of North Main Street and Fluvanna Avenue.

Jamestown Police say Hector Montanez, 33, and Eddie Ortiz, 25, were allegedly found in possession of $17,962 in cash, more than seven grams of powder cocaine and a quantity of marijuana.

Officers say the two were pulled over for allegedly failing to keep right.











Montanez is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Ortiz, the driver, is charged with failing to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police said Ortiz was issued appearance tickets and released.









Montanez was taken to city jail and later released by the court.
