MAYVILLE – A Chautauqua County Grand Jury found Ashleyanne Lopez-Lopez, 26, not guilty of charges in the stabbing death of a teen girl on Friday afternoon.

Prosecutors argued that Lopez-Lopez, stabbed 15-year-old Jefreda Brown during an incident on Lincoln Avenue in Dunkirk last May.

Brown died a day after the stabbing at a regional hospital.

The trial started last Friday in Chautauqua County Court. Jury deliberations started Thursday.

Lopez-Lopez was facing a second-degree manslaughter charge in the case.
