ELLICOTT – A man is facing charges after allegedly trying to break into a home in the Town of Ellicott on Sunday.

Ellicott Police say Mark Watson, 29, tried to enter a residence through a window just after 1 a.m.

Officers say Watson fled on foot before they arrived at the scene. Watson was later found and taken into custody.

Through investigation police learned that a court order prohibited Watson from visiting the home.

Watson is charged with second-degree criminal contempt, trespass and resisting arrest.

Police say he was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment and issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Ellicott Court.
