BEMUS POINT – A benefit to raise money to help a woman who lost her home in a wind storm will take place this weekend.

Debbie Madl’s mobile home was destroyed by strong winds during a storm in January.

Now, Madl is responsible for removing the debris from her mobile home park, which she says costs more than what she received from her insurance company.

A benefit featuring a Chinese auction will take place on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jamestown War Vets, 3431 Fluvanna Ave. Tickets can be purchased at the door for a $5 donation.

Since the storm, Madl has found a new home in the same mobile home park.
