Man Shot Overnight In Dunkirk, Second Reported Shooting This Week

DUNKIRK – A man was injured following a shooting Thursday night in the City of Dunkirk.

Dunkirk Police say they were called to Brooks Hospital’s Emergency Department around 7:30 a.m. for a reported victim with a gunshot wound.

Police say not further details about the shooting are available, although, they ask anyone with information about the incident to contact them at (716) 336-2266.











This is the second shooting this week in the City of Dunkirk.

On Wednesday afternoon, police say Christian Horta-Romero, 21, allegedly discharged several rounds from a firearm while in the back yard of the residence on Ruggles Street.









Police say a loaded firearm was recovered from the scene.

Horta-Romero is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Police have not said if the two shootings are connected. We will continue to follow this story for updates.
