WASHINGTON –  Two members of Congress, one Republican and one Democrat, released a PSA Thursday morning urging members of the public to “Slam the Scam,” to raise awareness and end telephone scams.

Congressman Tom Reed, who is the Republican leader of the House Ways and Means Social Security Committee, and Subcommittee Chairman John Larson say robocallers have impersonated the Social Security Administration on numerous occasions.

Both Congressmen, in the video above, stated various questions that the Social Security Administration would never ask.

The Social Security Administration deemed today, Mar. 5, Slam the Scam Day.
