JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police say an argument likely led to a late morning shooting at a Jefferson Street address Thursday.

Officers responded to 707 Jefferson St. just after 11:30 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

Through investigation, police believe that a male victim was shot during an argument that occurred in the front yard of the address.

The victim was able to drive himself to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say as of Thursday afternoon their investigation continues. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 716-483-7537.

Police say the incident is believed to have been targeted and is not a random act of violence.
