COLDSPRING – A 59-year-old man died in a crash in Cattaraugus County over the past weekend.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says shortly before 10:15 a.m. on Sunday morning a 2020 Ford Explorer headed west on I-86 in the Town of Coldspring lost control and went off the right side of the highway.

After going down through a field, the Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle struck multiple trees and a chain link fence before hitting a guard rail at the end of Lower Jones Hill Rd.

The vehicle then overturned multiple times before coming to a rest upside down.

Authorities have not identified the driver and say he was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears no one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Coldspring Fire Department, Randolph Fire Department and the Randolph Regional Fire EMS also responded to the scene with Sheriff Deputies.
