Suspect Arrested Following Hours-Long Standoff In Silver Creek


UPDATE:

SILVER CREEK — The suspect, Timothy Winford, 38, peacefully surrendered to authorities without incident.

Winford was arrested and will be taken to the Chautauqua County Jail as a fugitive from justice on the Florida charge of “Aggravated Assault without a weapon with the intent to kill”.


The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by the SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, CCSO K9 Units and Emergency Services.

SILVER CREEK – Authorities from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office are working on Thursday afternoon to arrest a Florida man wanted on a violent felony warrant.



Chautauqua County Sheriff Jim Quattrone tells WNYNewsNow that the male, who he didn’t identify, was allegedly refusing to come out of an unidentified Silver Creek residence, later identified in a release as 15 Elm St. The male is wanted on a charge of Aggravated Assault without a weapon with the intent to kill.

Quattrone says “it appears” the male will be coming out peacefully, which he says is his department’s ultimate goal. He adds that deputies are still talking with him to make sure he’ll follow through.

The SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, and Emergency Services are on scene.
