ELLICOTT – A Buffalo area man was arrested Wednesday after police alleged he threw a water bottle at a car on I-86 near Jamestown.

New York State Police say Ahmed Alqadhi, 41, of Lackawanna, allegedly threw the bottle at a vehicle he was passing, causing damage.

Troopers say Alqadhi fled the scene after the victim called 911.

Police say they located the suspect vehicle soon after the incident was reported and Alqadhi was taken in to custody.

Alqadhi is charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Troopers say he was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released.

Alqadhi is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court on a later date.
