WARREN – Pennsylvania is stepping up measures to slow the spread of Coronavirus by requiring anyone who visits from another state to now test negative.

The new actions are very similar to rules rolled out late last month in New York.

Pennsylvania’s health secretary says anyone who visits from another state will be required to have a negative test 72 hours before entering the state.

If someone does not or cannot get a test, they will have to quarantine for 14 days. This also goes for people living in Pennsylvania who visit other states and then return home.

Earlier this week, the state’s Governor announced new mitigation efforts to help stop the spread of the virus, including stricter rules when it comes to wearing a mask.

New York also requires out-of-state travelers to show negative test results before they enter the state, or New Yorkers leave the state and return home.
