LONDON – Another Coronavirus vaccine is showing promising results.
AstraZeneca saying Monday its experimental vaccine is 70 percent effective on average.
It showed 90 percent efficacy in one dosing regimen. That’s when the vaccine was given as a half dose followed by a full dose at least a month later.
There was a 62 percent efficacy in a second regimen, when two full doses were given at least a month apart.
The vaccine, developed with the University of Oxford, is the latest of several vaccine trials worldwide to post their results this month.
In a news release, AstraZeneca says its vaccine is quote “highly effective in preventing COVID-19.”
Importantly, the drug maker said there were “no hospitalizations or severe cases of the disease” reported in participants receiving the vaccine.
