JAMESTOWN – Officials with the City of Jamestown’s Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department have announced details of their annual Christmas tree recycling campaign.

Starting on Monday, January 11 crews will begin collecting discarded trees around the city.

Residents are asked to place trees on the terrace between the street and sidewalk.

All trees should be removed from plastic bags and/or boxes. The trees should also not have Christmas lights or tree stands attached to them.

Furthermore, crews request that the tree remain visible should a large snowfall occur.

Officials say each tree collected will be recycled.

Those with questions can contact the Parks Maintenance Office at (716) 483-7554.
