LITTLE VALLEY – A City of Salamanca man is back in behind bars after escaping from the Cattaraugus County Jail this month.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Matthew Krysick allegedly escaped custody while in a sally port at the jail in Little Valley on December 21.

After a foot chase, deputies say Krysick was located hiding in a storage closet at the nearby HomeCare and Hospice.

Krysick is charged with first-degree escape and third-degree criminal trespass.

Deputies say he was arraigned in Cattaraugus County Court and remanded to the jail on $10,000 bail for his original charge.
