ALBANY – In his final State of the State Address New York’s Governor focused on improving infrastructure statewide.
During the Thursday speech, Governor Andrew Cuomo pledged to invest $306 billion for projects like removing the skyway from Downtown Buffalo.
Cuomo says infrastructure projects would not only create jobs but could spur other developments as well.
“Building new projects, enhancing day-to-day life, seeing progress, also lifts peoples’ spirits,” said Cuomo. “Increasing belief in the future increases consumer and investor confidence, and in and of itself stimulates the economy.”
Once again, he says Washington needs to help with post-COVID economic rebuilding and says other states were keeping their taxes artificially low while being subsidized by New York.
He also says these states were falsely luring people and businesses out of New York.
