Man Jailed After Allegedly Hitting Woman In The Head With A Table Leg

WESTFIELD – A Mayville man is behind bars after allegedly hitting a woman in the head with a wooden table leg.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Tyler Stakelum allegedly struck the woman during an altercation on Friday night, causing a large laceration.

When Stakelum was taken into custody, the Department says he physically resisted arrest.











He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail and charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest.

The woman was transported to the hospital by Westfield Fire Department for treatment of her injuries.
