No Students Hurt Following “Despondent Student” Incident At Middle School

JAMESTOWN – No students were hurt following a “despondent student” incident at Washington Middle School in Jamestown on Thursday morning.

Jamestown Police tell WNY News Now several officers responded to the school for a reported “despondent student” around 9 a.m.











Police Captain Robert Samuelson says the student was secured by officers shortly after they arrived at the school building.

He says the student was taken via ambulance to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital for evaluation.

No other students were in danger during the incident, Samuelson says.









Jamestown Public School officials say the building was under a shelter-in-place during the situation.
