Regional Search Ends With Suspect In Custody Following Shooting

WESTERN NEW YORK – The regional search for a suspect accused of fatally shooting a man in Niagara Falls on Thursday morning has ended.

The Niagara Falls Police Department says 35-year-old Matthew Figura Jr. is in the custody of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.


The man, police say, was likely fleeing the Buffalo Metro Area and may be headed toward the Southern Tier or Pennsylvania.

WESTERN NEW YORK – Police across Western New York are looking for a suspect accused of fatally shooting a man in Niagara Falls on Thursday morning.

The Niagara Falls Police Department says 35-year-old Matthew Figura Jr. is likely fleeing the Buffalo Metro Area and may be headed toward the Southern Tier or Pennsylvania.

Figura, detectives say, was last seen driving a black Nissan Frontier pickup truck with a Virginia license plate that reads ULV-3324.



Police say he also has connections throughout the state, including Niagara Falls, Ransomville, Cambria, Lewiston and Lockport.

He should, police further, be considered armed and dangerous.

Figura is wanted in connection with a morning shooting at Niagara Metals. Officers who responded to the area say they found a man who died as the result of a gunshot wound.
