MAYVILLE – A Jamestown area developer is accused of misappropriating funds tied to the Jamestown Brewing Company project.

Evans Bank is suing G Patti Enterprises in Chautauqua County Supreme Court.

The lawsuit states that G Patti failed to pay $748,554 of a $1,382,360 loan from the bank.

The loan was obtained via grant funding part of the New York Main Street Program, Community Development Block Grants, Jamestown City’s Greenlining Program and Facade Grant.

Evans Bank’s legal team accused the local developer of misappropriating those grant funds, specifically by disposing of them without providing the bank notice of receipts or obtaining their consent.

The Jamestown Brewing Company, meanwhile, was evicted from their downtown space after GPatti Enterprises reported they owed $85,000 in base rent.

Lawyers for GPatti previously said that the brewers made partial rent payments in November and December 2019.

The brewers first opened for business in July 2019, but closed briefly after not receiving a liquor license. The license was eventually obtained later in the year.
